A little background info on these guys-

Although bug, Cevec are quite gentile creatures, and possess a shy nature. This makes them comparable with humans, although it takes a lot of work and trust to bond with one. They don't mind domestic life, although they do like to roam free once and a while. 

The feathers on a Cevec only appear in the Summer, for mating season, before falling off in the fall. Finding a wild cevec feather, especially the long tail feather can be quite a rarity, and something to boast about, the tail feather usually being nearly 2 times longer than the average human. These tail feathers come in all sorts of shapes and patterns, with swirls and stripes being the most common. 

Cevec wear painted masks as a display of creativity during mating season. Cevec are intelligent creatures that are able to create primal  forms of art, such as basic painting, arrangements, and  sketches, although none of them reach human quality of art. They create using their second pair of fore legs, which include a simple form of a thumb to grasp things.
